my challenge...

My aim is to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society by cycling the 3,250 miles from Seattle to Atlanta in 35 days this summer. The route takes in 1,700 miles of the Rocky Mountains, climbing to over 10,000 feet before dropping down and completing the remaining 1,550 miles through the southern states of Mississippi, Lousiana and Alabama. The ride is unsupported so I will be carrying camping & cooking equipment and all my spares and repair kit with me for the 100 miles that I will need to ride every day.

The Alzheimer’s Society is a worthy cause that I have good reason to support, having watched both my grandfathers suffer the disease and my grandmothers and family take on the burden of caring for them. During these difficult times, The Alzheimer’s Society has been a tremendous support and my family and I are very grateful to them.

your help...

By logging onto www.justgiving.com/peter-keron and donating online, you can make an immediate difference. The trip is entirely self-funded and 100% of the sponsorship donated goes directly to The Alzheimer’s Society. If you feel that you or your business could contribute logistical or practical support to the trip then indirect sponsorship is also greatly appreciated. If you would like to be involved in any way please get in touch!

a great result!

We hope that with continued time and effort, Alzheimer’s may become a more manageable condition. A cure may be a long way off but the more we understand the disease the more we can lessen it’s effects on sufferers and families. This cycle ride is the obvious way for me as a cyclist to make this point and to show my support for the cause. I hope to reach Atlanta on 30th August having done more than just cycle a really long way!
